DMT3: Dimensional Management of Teams

Team failure is organizational failure

Most modern work processes are highly complex, non-linear, and cannot be simplified into fragmented tasks with sequential activities. Instead, these processes require the merging of previously specialized job functions within work teams. Teamwork is therefore essential to have a competitive edge.Yet many teams flounder because they do not have the appropriate skills to develop effective teams. When teams flounder, so does the organization.

  • Leader Consultation: A meeting with the team leader to determine the team’s current situation, and clarify the leader’s intent and objectives
  • Individual Consultations and 360° Survey Feedback from direct reports and the boss plus a series of one-on-one meetings with each team member to personally debrief the 360° feedback inform them on how the DMT3 process works, and introduce the team assessment pre-work assignment
  • Team Building Team Assessment involves a candid examination of team operations to determine how the team functions best, how to leverage team assets, and how to eliminate or minimize team liabilities
  • Goal Setting: The team clarifies their direction by drafting a mission statement, mapping out long-term and short-term goals, and setting up a tracking system to ensure the team meets its objectives
